Well, that can be already done:

Enter, die, click on the guy you want to follow.

But there's the thing of gaining death counts that way, though.

/signed for elite mission only.

reasons:
1) good for players who has never play an elite area before.
2) if server is the worry, can always impose a limited viewers number thing to prevent too many players using up all the server. eg: maximum spectator has reached, please try again later.
3) only show the best few.

/not signed,

but if it worked in real-time like when you're dead and clicking a party member, sure why not. Then it could work like this:
- Member in party does a /invite Player X.
- Player X accepts, loading screen and can then observe as a 'dead' player.

It would be incredibly awesome if it were just two videos or so. One of the best times for a mission (with bonuses) and one for the worst (for laughs/lessons on what not to do). If it was restricted to elite areas and two videos per area per day, that would be 26 videos to observe per day. You could cut it down to 12, if you only count DoA and Slaver's as one area and perhaps rotated which sub-area was viewable each day. For that matter, you could just show one video per area and trim it down to 6!

I'm all for for it. It would be good for players who are PvE competent but don't quite know the tricks of the trade concerning elite quests and missions. Perhaps we could finally see the slow death of group failure due to someone taking the wrong quest or attacking the wrong foe (ahh mister wailing lord...why must you be so deliciously killable?).

Wouldn't this also help to bridge the gap from PvE to PvP as well? It would familiarize the PvE population with observer mode, and teach them to learn from the examples of better players.

/Signed: It's not feasible for every mission, but it would be a great asset for elite missions. And it also makes sense in of pve leading to pvp.

/never-sign

It would not be a good idea. Observer mode has brought META-MEDIOCRITY to this game, which most old-head pvp'ers truly believe has been the true downfall of GvG and HA. It never "worked" for pvp.

Observer mode has been nothing but a bad virus that won't go away unless they drop Observer mode for good. We certainly dont need it in the easiest part of the game....pve. Copy/paste ...copy/paste....copy/paste = crap learning curve = typically bad play.

no. Theres currently enough useless crap *cough cough hero battles* on my observer mode as it is, much less a bunch of random people running around in pve...

And money grows on trees, right?

You can already find plenty on Youtube. No need for Anet to bankrupt itself to fund this massive and pointless endeavor.

Ugh, notsigned. Most are irrelevant to watch anyway, as they're pugs or fails or average. The truly outstanding ones are posted on youtube. Enjoy.
